The “Official 7-Day Time Period” for 2021 is Wednesday, July 7, 2021 to Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at a time to be determined at the CC7D Kickoff Event.

  • Contest rules, policies, procedures and events are managed by the CC7D Steering Committee.

  • CC7D is a filmmaking competition where teams have seven days to make a film from scratch.

  • CC7D is open to anyone.

  • All entrants must be at least eighteen (18) years of age or must have a parent or legal guardian sign the Participant’s Agreement..

  • The entry fee $50 per team.  Entry fee must be paid in cash at the Kickoff event. No IOUs.

  • If a team must withdraw from CC7D or is disqualified, no refund will be available.

Each participating group must have a representative at the official CC7D Kickoff Event on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at The Venue at House of Rock, 511 Starr St., Corpus Christi, Texas 78401.  Registration will begin at 6:00 pm. 

- At the Kickoff event, each group will submit a Participant’s Agreement,           signed by the Team Leader, and pay the entry fee.

- The only information required at the Kickoff event is the Team’s name, the     Team Leader’s name and contact information.

- Each group will receive a packet with all necessary paperwork including a     blank team list that must be turned in with the completed film.

- Each group will be assigned required essential elements that must appear     in its film, including a specific character, a prop, a line of dialogue and a         fourth element.

- The exact time for the turn-In deadline on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 will be   officially determined at the Kickoff event.  It will be announced, posted on     the website and ​social media.  


  • ​​​​​​​​​​Content of the movie/film/video is at the discretion of the participating groups. Please see Rules and FAQ for more information.

  • Teams must submit their film and materials at The Venue at House of Rock, 511 Starr St., Corpus Christi, Texas 78401 on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 by the exact time determined at the Kickoff Event.

  • Do not submit your only existing copies of your film, music, screenplay or paperwork. Flash drives, data discs and documents will not be returned.

  • Films that meet all CC7D criteria are eligible for Grand Jury Prize (1st Place), Runner-Up (2nd Place), Honorable Mention (3rd Place), Audience Award, Filmmakers Award, Young Filmmaker Award, Best Directing, Best Cinematography, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Ensemble, Best Use of Essential Prop, Best Use of Essential Character and Best Use of Essential Dialogue. Teams with original music created specifically for their films will be eligible for Best Original Song (songs with lyrics) and Best Original Score (instrumental). Teams that submit a screenplay of their films will be eligible for Best Screenplay.

  • The Steering Committee will screen all films entered to verify time, content and essential element requirements. A local Selection Committee will select the films sent to the Jury. The Selection Committee will screen the films with the same process and criteria given to the Jury.

  • The Screening and Awards Ceremony will be held on Sunday, September 5, 2021. The Screening will be at the Alamo Drafthouse Corpus Christi, 7601 South Staples, Corpus Christi, TX 78413.  All 2021 CC7D films that met all the criteria required will be screened at the Alamo Drafhouse. The Awards Ceremony will follow at The Venue at House of Rock, 511 Starr St., Corpus Christi, Texas 78401.
